Summer Strawberry Cake

We've really been enjoying the delicious crop of strawberries this summer.  We've been making lots of cakes using fresh strawberries and our varieties of homemade strawberry conserve.  This week its a Strawberry and Vanilla Loaf Cake - two layers of vanilla sponge cake, sandwiched with our strawberry and rhubarb conserve and some vanilla buttercream, then topped with vanilla buttercream and fresh strawberries. A new favourite!  We'll have some at Sunday's market.

This weekend, we're at the Duck Pond Farmers Market in Ruislip on Sunday.  Unfortunately we'll not be at Ealing on Saturday, as we have a family event, and Sue is on holiday.
