About Miriam's Munchies

Cathy and Miriam started Miriam's Munchies as a mother-daughter team with a shared passion for baking and creating delicious cakes. We have grown steadily since we started up as a part-time 'hobby' business in 2007, with a weekend stall at the local Farmers' Market in Pinner. The business grew so much that Cathy left her corporate marketing role to run it full-time, while Miriam continued to to assist alongside her school and university studies.

We now have stalls at Farmers' Markets each month, we supply local cafes, and we have expanded our corporate and bespoke services, with customers ordering regularly. We also attend a number of local fairs and festivals each year to sell our cakes.

In November 2014, we finally realised our long-held ambition of moving out of our home kitchen-turned-bakery and into retail premises so we can continue to expand and branch into retail of our own. Every day we have a range of freshly baked handmade cakes, cupcakes, brownies and savoury tarts, and we serve Monmouth Coffee and Birchall's Tea to be enjoyed alongside them! We also stock a variety of locally made and ethically sourced produce, including honey, jams, preserves, juices and hot chocolate.

Locally sourced

All our cakes are hand made and baked fresh to order with only the best quality ingredients, including local artisan unsalted butter, organic flour, local free-range eggs, fair-trade cane sugar and organic fair-trade chocolate and cocoa. Our range changes with the seasonal availability of produce, and according to events and occasions in the year, All our cakes are made from natural ingredients, with no artificial colours, flavours or additives (except for our red velvet cake which contains red food colouring).

We buy our ingredients locally, direct from local farms and from stallholders at Farmers' Markets to produce our delicious delights. Where an ingredient is not grown locally in the UK, for example chocolate or lemons, we buy from reputable and ethical suppliers, which are usually fair-trade. Wherever possible, we buy organic ingredients, but local provenance takes precedence. The fruit and vegetables we buy are produced locally and according to seasonal availability.

We ensure that everything we make is vegetarian, and organic where possible. We never use GM products, artificial preservatives or additives so you are always guaranteed top quality.

We keep our food miles low by using local producers, and minimise waste by using reusable delivery boxes and biodegradable and compostable packaging.
